An Official Local Search is required when a property is up for sale and a purchaser is interested in buying it. An Official Local Search can be purchased for a Residential property or a Commercial property and is produced by the local authority. An Official Local Search is usually required by a solicitor but can also be purchased by the party which is interested in buying the property in question. An Official Local Search contains information which is property specific and details information such as Land Charges, Planning Applications, Building Control History and Permitted Developments are provided in a Local Authority Search.
